Two juries, Energy Analysis and Engineering Design/Implementation, are used to decipher the technological advancements to the Solar Decathlon house. For the Energy Analysis Contest, students are required to fabricate a model predicting the annual energy performance of the respective house design. They will be observing how this model improved the form and technology utilized in the Decathlon house. In the Engineering Design/Implementation Contest, the teams are assessed on the building envelope, indoor environmental control, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
