Photovoltaics is the process of converting solar power into electricity. The roof design integrates 27 PV panels providing 6.5 KW of electricity to power the energy systems and appliances of the house. The panels are located on an adjustable rack that allows the panels to pivot and optimize their solar orientation. A portion of the south wall contains 12 PV panels providing an additional 2.0 KW of electricity to help power the house and an electrical vehicle.
